Its Assets series – AssetBase and AssetDiplomat software packages complement school, diploma and matriculation levels accounting coursework. The Asset series program houses interactive modules that build up knowledge of basic record keeping, structured as a separate module from its accounting cycle simulation. Unique to this product line, its simulation program is designed on a new breakthrough back-end database programming structure meeting the national school and matriculation examination syllabus requirements.

In completing the full learning cycle (based on *Gagne’s Nine Step Model to Learning Process), A/Prof Dr Arfah mooted the design and development of the AssessUrBook software that provided educators with the tool to evaluate coursework performance and real-time analysis. Launched in July 2004, the software won a Gold Medal at the Science, Technology and Innovation Exhibition 2004 organised by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).

Responding to the call of the authorities and public, A/Prof Dr Arfah continues to lead the academia in her efforts to push its research products and innovation to be commercialised, bringing the much awaited relevance of academic research to the realm of society, a feat particularly rare from the social science corpus.

Therein lies the reason for the birth of Computer-Learning Sdn. Bhd. (CBL) as the only small/medium enterprise (SME), a forerunner in the provision of a revolutionary, pedagogical approach in the sphere of computerised accounting education by bridging classroom learning to industry practices.

As CBL establishes itself in the market, A/Prof Dr Arfah remains committed in support of the rigorous research and development work in the company, an involvement instrumental to maintaining CBL’s lead position in setting the trend for innovative accounting educational achievements.
