Computer-Based Learning (CBL) Sdn. Bhd. is an MSC status company residing in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It was established in 2003, with the initial core activity of developing breakthrough accounting education and assessment software.

The packages proved to be an innovative and exceptional invention. The simulation technology is patented in over 13 countries including the whole of Europe, the United States, Australia, China, India, South Africa, the Middle East, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and other South East Asian countries.
As further testimony to its novelty as a tool in the teaching and learning of accounting, the software was endorsed by all major international accounting bodies such as the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the London Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
As a result, the software is now used in all schools, community colleges, polytechnics and universities nationwide. CBL is also the forerunner in bridging industry linkages with the education sector. The industry recognized ASSET series are the products behind the Double Certification project under the Ministry of Education. The project involve SPM students taking the Principles of Accounting paper, where upon using the software in the curriculum and after being formally assessed, are granted certification from professional accounting bodies on top of the SPM certificate.
The milestones achieved reflect CBL’s vision in bridging the gap between industry practices and academia for the benefit of the country’s growing human capital development and is catalytic in launching CBL’s expansion of activities as well as deeper involvement in the industry market and international arena.
CBL also houses expertise in the area of hotel management. The technical and operational know how are translated into the development and subsequently the mercantile of niche hotel management and hotel financial system software. Although the products are relatively young in the market, it has managed to secure significant growing list of user base through the Regency hotel chains and the renowned Damai Beach Hotel in Sarawak.
The culmination of CBL’s knowledge in business practices is materialized through the licensing of a European based organization to CBL’s wholly owned subsidiary called Malaysia Practice Enterprise Centre (MyPEC). MyPEC functions as the sole service provider in Malaysia to other organizations for the revolutionary, blended “Learning by Doing” business and entrepreneurship simulation training approach through the setting up of virtual companies.
